Good or bad experience with ChuckECheese birthday parties?

We had our son's 6th birthday there this afternoon. They were late setting up our table, late bringing out the food and had to skip over opening presents because it was a mad-house in there and they didn't have enough time for it! Anyone had similar experiences?

I think that might be the last time we do a ChuckECheese party!

Chuck E Cheese scared the living crap out of me as a child (older cousin told me that he eats eyeballs with a fork). I would crawl under the table and hide whenever he came around. He tried to hug me once and I almost fainted from screaming my head off (we had to leave) Ahh, brings back wonderful memories, have no idea why my parents continued to take me. I would say that most kids love it and they usually have a lot better service than you described. I would (if you already have not) call them up and complain about the impact it made on your already stressful day. It most likely will not happen again. Besides, come next year on another birthday party, I highly doubt it would be the same staff - food businesses like that are constantly hiring and firing and having people quit so it could be a whole different experience.

If your son insists on it again next year, I would give them another try and book it during a weekday, it would be much more calm and you'd probably be the only ones there with full attention devoted to your service and food.Good or bad experience with ChuckECheese birthday parties?
Overall I dislike ChuckECheese. The last time I went to one was when I was nine. Their prizes were WAY overpriced compared to other "party pizzerias", half of the games didn't exactly work without warning so people were unintentionally wasting tokens, my younger brother lost almost 300 tickets because the people there didn't explain well enough how you turn in your tickets, not to mention their food is crap compared to other places... Yeah CeC is a pretty crappy place XDGood or bad experience with ChuckECheese birthday parties?
ChuckECheese is always so packed especially on the weekends. I will not throw a party or go to a party there if it is on a friday saturday or sunday. But I have had a birthday party there during the week. Next time try booking your party for a thursday evening around six. Not only is it almost empty you get extra tokens and goodies for booking it on a weekday.Good or bad experience with ChuckECheese birthday parties?
I had a horrible McDonald's party when I was 5. In Australia. My 5th birthday party. Where to start. The party assistant girl let 2 or 3 of the siblings (both brothers of other kids, uninvited) stick there hands into my cake and destroy it. (it was part of the deal). then they screwed up the kids orders, and mum had to stand there for 10 minutes trying to convince them to give me a new cake (they did-eventually-my mum is great like that) and I got to keep the tinkerbell ornaments from both cakes. Not the samee, but it still sucked.

It was great... we had slices of pizzas and pieces of cake and drinks... and the kids had fun, play some games... very nice.

Not all ChuckECheese are bad... depend on the manager and staff.

Contact ChuckECheese corporation about them... and maybe they can do something about it and improve the situation there.
