Childrens Birthday Party Albany NY?

I am throwing a birthday party for my 6 year old in about a month, but have no ideas. I would like to do it at a venue, but not chuckecheese, jeepers, etc. I would also like it to be geared to boys and girls, any ideas?Childrens Birthday Party Albany NY?
how about a park? both boys and girls love parks and the out doors. you could even go with a bug theme and get lady-bug plates and cake, etc. with an out-door venue (i don't know if this is universal, or just around the border) you could do a pinata (paper mache hollow creation full of candy) or something like that. also, out side gives kids space to run and a variety of options for recreational and/or planned games with prizes or without. in case you want more info about the pinata there's a link below.Childrens Birthday Party Albany NY?
maybe rent a moon bounce or have a poolparty. Have Fun!!
I would just have it at your house in the backyard. You can go to a party supply store and get some games for them to play. You could also have it be a carnival theme and home-make some of the games and have prizes. You can barbeque and just enjoy the nice weather. You could hire a clown or magician to come in...I remember one of my birthdays as a kid had a clown/magician and everyone was entranced by him :)Childrens Birthday Party Albany NY?
the one we went to yeaterday had clowns, belly dancers, exotic animals to pet and hispanic servers . A doctors kids b-day.
I had a "Puppy" party for my son at that age. A local pet store in our area does this. They will come out and set up play pens for the children and puppies to play in. Many of the puppies are up for sale too. They all have had their shots and everything. It's been six years now and people, mostly children that came to the party, still come up to me and say they remember the "puppy party" at our house and it was the funnest party they've been to.Childrens Birthday Party Albany NY?
michaels or joanne's craft stores offer craft parties. the kids get to decorate things like shirts, gumball machines etc(you choose) also, color me mine in stuyvesant plaza have pottery parties, but six may be too young. my son(seven) is going to a valley cats baseball party tonight. the b-day kids name is announced, the crowd sings happy birthday, and after the game the kids get to go on the field and run the bases. way cool. and this might not sound like a party, but i have yet to meet a youngster who hasn't thought the children's museum was "amazing", "so cool", and of course, "awesome". good luck and have fun.
I live in Albany and there are really great places. How about Build a Bear. All kids like that and they all get to go home with a stuffed animal they made. They pick out the stuffed animal, put filling in it and dress it up any way they want! You pay one price ( kids like $5 per person) and they also have cake and games, etc.

Also, a skating rink could be fun.

But Build a Bear is great! Look into it- the kids will love it and it will keep them busy and entertained, leaving you with no worries about keeping the kids happy!!!
