Where to have a 2 year old birthday party in Philadelphia?

My son is turning 2 in June where is a nice place to have his birthday party most of the guests will be about 2-5 years old. (Other than the please touch museum I don't want to spend $700 for a 2yr old birthday party) We did a nice cookout in the park last year so I didn't want to do that again. Also no ChuckeCheese. But maybe somewhere like it. Thanks!!Where to have a 2 year old birthday party in Philadelphia?
Montgomeryville Mall has a place called Imagination Playzone. There is a big moonbouce, and outdoor playsets that are in their indoor area. Last time we went they had tire swings, slides, rock walls attached to the playset, and so on. It was $8 for all day play and you can come and go throughout the day. I know they book parties, but if you are going to have less than 10 kids...maybe more like 5, I'm guessing you won't need a reservation but you could always call them.

Bettes Bounces is just south of south Philly and has a big indoor play center. I haven't been there, but I have heard it's very popular and they book up quickly with birthday parties and even general admission. They are $8 I believe as well, and have plenty of indoor activities like the different bounce houses and so on.

What I have done for the last 2 years is block off our street and rent the pick up moonbounce from Bettes Bounces. It is a $125 special and it is $20 to block off the street for the day. I like it because my daughter and her neighborhood friends get to run the street the entire day and play on their bikes, etc. Then we BBQ and play music. We had Elmo stop by for a visit last year. Total cost for 50-60 people was approx. $300-$350 for the party. If that budget is still too high, you could just block off the street, buy your 2 year old a ride on toy, and let your child play outside the entire day w/ the other kids and still have a bbq and you could probably do that for under $100.

If your little one likes water, check out CoCo Key or Sahara Sam's in Jersey. You could even see if Sesame Place will be open and what they offer for birthday party packages. You could also contact the zoo and see what type of party packages they have. If you want to go to a park again, that's not a bad idea and it's a great party place on a budget. There are so many parks in Philly so you have a lot to choose from. Here is a link w/ a couple good ones: http://www.best5everything.com/best5List鈥?/a>

And we tried to go here but they were closed, it sounds like such a great park. It would be my personal recommendation because we saw the playground equipment and there is a big grass area out front that is perfect for kids to run freely and play and have a picnic (we had a picnic there, so did a couple others; no benches, so bring a blanket: The winner of our 2008 Parents' Picks quest to find the Best Playground for Little Kids in Philadelphia, the SMITH The Kids' Play Place in the Park (formerly known as Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse) http://gocitykids.parentsconnect.com/att鈥?/a>
