If I get Pokemon Platinum, am I going to miss out by not getting Diamond or Pearl?

...Or is this basically the version that includes both Diamond and Pearl? Does it had a new story or is it basically the same story? In Diamond you can only catch Dialga, in Pearl you can only catch Palkia, but in Platinum you can catch both. Also, a battle frontier was added for the fun. If you've played pokemon emerald, the battle frontier has things like the battle tower etc.... So getting Platinum is better than getting Diamond and Pearl, so just get Platinum.If I get Pokemon Platinum, am I going to miss out by not getting Diamond or Pearl?No way,you're not going to miss out on diamond and pearl,sure,it's a different story,but you can catch the palkia and dalkia(correct me if i misspelled) in platinum because you can only catch one of them in diamond and pearl(i'm not sure which is which)

But it is really recommended to get platinum.
