In my point of view, the solution for the ILLEGAL sand mining is the LEGAL sand mining, what means to take the sand from where it will not affect the environment. In the Caribbean Islands, we don鈥檛 have many areas available to extract the sand. The best option to concider is to find sources in the continent.



In British Guyana, there is a company named GUYANA SAND INC which has been created with this proposal.



Many governments are considering this new company as the most accessible solution to minimize the illegal sand mining that is affecting the environment heavily in the Caribbean Islands. This company received an internation award for its initiative early this year.

I have done a fast research and, in my opinion, the best solution for the Islands is to get the sand from Guyana Sand Inc, which was built and developed by Environmental Engineers only for this purpose.
