Why does transporting plants from one biome to another could cause environmental problem? ?

In its natural habitat the plant may have insects or weather, etc. to keep it in check. In a new habitat it may have no natural enemies. Eurasian mil foil is fouling many American lakes because nothing eats it to keep it in check.
