The ozone hole has the capacity to fix itself in the absence of human pollutants. If we went extinct tomorrow and the Earth were analyzed in a few million years there would be little or no trace of the change we brought about on the ozone layer. It may have already reduced its rate of deterioration due to drastic reduction in CFCs.
Climate change will almost certainly directly accelerate the current mass extinction underway. Come back in a million years or so and the loss in biodiversity will still be evident. It is also unlikely that carbon will have been transferred back into a non-atmospheric state. THe world will probably still be much warmer than it would have been in the absence of human effects. Is the ozone hole or climate change a bigger environmental problem?I say climate change, because it affects more regions of the world. The melting of the ice caps and the de-salinzation of the oceans lead to weather changes that affects us all. Did you see Day After Tomorrow??Is the ozone hole or climate change a bigger environmental problem?NO CFC'SIs the ozone hole or climate change a bigger environmental problem?Climate change is in part the result of the ozone hole. As the ozone layer continues to deteriorate, more of the suns UV rays are able to reach the surface of the earth and thus we see global warming. Is the ozone hole or climate change a bigger environmental problem?
I would have to say climate changes. We have data that goes back hundreds of years on our climate yet the data for the ozone hole only dates back to the 1970's. With extensive data on climate we can see the trends on the climate. The ozone hole was thought to be growing and causing for alarm however it also goes through constant change where it grows and shrinks. With so little data on the ozone hole it is hard to determine if it is a problem yet.
