farming uses pesticides which can enter the ground water and people could end up getting sick.List one environmental problem with harvesting?yes, that can occur, but only if used improperly.
proper use of pesticides is 100% safe for people and environment (except the pests of course).
even with "organic" farming improper use of fertilizing materials, etc. can have serious adverse effects on people and the environment so it's not the method or the materials...it's the user.
oh...and an environmental problem with harvesting....you can leave open ground and soil can be more susceptible to runoff and erosion.
