One of my local Jewelers is saying "he imports his diamonds from India" and therefore that guarantees they're conflict free. Is there supposed to be a receipt or something indicating its been through the kimberley process? How do I know if a diamond ring purchased from a jeweler has been through the Kimberley process? There should be a receipt from his supplier which indicates the guarantee that the diamond is obtained under the Kimberly process. The fact that this diamond comes from India is absolutely no guarantee that it is supervised through Kimberly Process procedures. Diamond Rough comes from various places outside of Africa. Canada, Australia, Russia and parts of Africa. However, the cutting and polish manufacturers are in Belgium, India, China and Russia too. Have him produce an invoice as to source of origin if possible. If he is upfront he won鈥檛 have a problem doing this. Here are some other links to help you as well -
Good Luck! How do I know if a diamond ring purchased from a jeweler has been through the Kimberley process?you should ask for a diamond certificate, that's always a good start.
