Is it possible to make a sword out of diamond?

Since diamond is the hardest substance in the world, I wonder if anyone has tried to make a blade out of it. Would it be possible? Is it possible to make a sword out of diamond?A sword made out of diamond wouldn't last very long. The very hardness of the diamond, combined with the length and narrowness of the blade, would make it so brittle that it would shatter the first time anything hit it with any amount of force. Good swords have hard metal for the cutting edge, and a softer metal behind that so they can bend and flex and absorb impacts instead of shattering.

You could make a sword out of sintered ceramic (Zirconium Oxide) particles. This would be the next best thing in terms of hardness. You can already buy knives that are made from sintered ceramic particles. These knives are extremely hard and very sharp! Unless someone can find a way to sinter very small diamonds, then this is gonna be the best way to go.

2 thumbs down??!?!

TWO thumbs down?!?!Is it possible to make a sword out of diamond?I suppose if you could ever find enough Diamond yes, but the most logical way would be to attach loads and loads of Diamonds to a centre made out of something like iron or titaniumIs it possible to make a sword out of diamond?
If you can find a diamond big enough, then yes

however it would shatter on impact as diamond is very brittleIs it possible to make a sword out of diamond?Ceramic knives suffer from the same problem as diamonds. Yes, they are very hard and sharp, but they break easily.
