It is a 1 carat diamond solitaire princess cut with some side stones and is very beautiful- He says he will tell her it is man-made- it cost him about $1500 bucks but would have cost about $6000 if it were not man-made. Pros and cons anyone?A guy I know is going to propose with a man-made diamond set in 18k white gold? There really is no difference except that the man-made stone (meaning it is a real diamond with the cracks and flaws filled in with a glass like substance) has to be cleaned differently so as not to damage the filled parts. It can't be heated excessively or exposed to harsh chemicals like ammonia that could be used on an unfilled diamond. No one but a jeweler could ever tell the difference from looking at it and sometimes even they can't so you have to tell them when you get it cleaned/ sized etc.A guy I know is going to propose with a man-made diamond set in 18k white gold? The pro: It's a beautiful ring that he bought for cheap
The con: It's not real, but I don't think you can really tell the differance.
